CORE SKILLS

At The Mandala School, we believe that every student has unique talents and strengths that can't be measured by standardized tests alone. That's why we take a different approach to education, one that's focused on individual achievement and growth. Instead of emphasizing test scores, we place our emphasis on skills that are essential for success in today's world, such as problem-solving, creativity, persistence, and collaboration. By nurturing these skills and encouraging our students to reach their full potential, we're able to help them develop the confidence and resilience they need to thrive both in and out of the classroom.

PROJECTS

During the school year, our students will engage in a variety of extended STEAM-based projects, which will also incorporate elements from history and social studies. This approach actively engages students in real-world, meaningful projects that bring learning to life. Through this process, our students gain in-depth content knowledge, critical thinking skills, creativity, teamwork, and communication skills.

Field studies/trips are also an important component of project-based learning. We value these excursions as a way to expose students to various careers and local small businesses, promoting community engagement and broadening their understanding of potential career paths. They allow students to immerse themselves in the subject matter and connect with the world around them.

LIFE SKILLS

Our students have the opportunity to learn about themselves and their place in the world around them. They are encouraged to set goals and take ownership of their education, gaining a sense of purpose and direction as they work towards their aspirations.

In addition, our students will have the chance to practice The Mandala Principle, which emphasizes the importance of community and teamwork. By working together and supporting one another, our students will learn to collaborate effectively and develop strong interpersonal skills that will serve them well in all areas of life.

We believe that every student has unique strengths and talents, and we strive to help them discover and cultivate those abilities. Through this process, our students will develop a strong sense of self, gain confidence, and be better equipped to make a positive impact in their communities and beyond.
